Our new partner status builds on our already existing strong partner relationship with VMware, and ensuring that our employees are certified and trained in the technology.
Building on the existing experience in design, development and deployment of virtualisation projects, our certification and partnership status ensures that virtualisation solutions are well tailored to your business needs.
As an IBM business partner, we are well positioned in being able to provide a full end-to-end solution, from the design, procurement, and deployment of physical hardware right through to the architecture, implementation, and migration of your new or existing virtualised environment.
Advent One becomes a FileNet partner.
Apr 2009Advent One has become a FileNet business partner extending its existing content and records management focus. Advent One is uniquely positioned to offer services and advice across both the traditional IBM Content Management and the FileNet portfolio. This breadth of knowledge is invaluable when evaluating the various products and options available and when choosing the appropriate repositories for your needs.
IBM's acquisition of FileNet complements its existing content and records management offerings. The FileNet portfolio of products offers enhanced process-centric business process management that extends the traditional document-centric lifecycle management to capture process information prior to and beyond the creation of documents. This SOA compliant framework allows external events to trigger events within a process and vice versa.
FileNet also offers extensive records management facilities that automatically categorises and declares records on creation of a document or as part of a business process rather than encumbering the user. Records management can be extended to incorporate other unstructured repositories under a single records management policy providing consistent and coordinated retention and destruction of documents.

Intellinx at Police CreditApril 2008 |
Victoria’s Police Credit has recently deployed the Intellinx solution for insider threat detection and prevention
Police Credit was founded in 1974 by a group of Police officers and has been servicing members for more than 30 years. Today, it is one of the largest credit co-operatives in Victoria, with a membership of over 80,000 members, and assets in excess of $800million. Police Credit offers a wide range of financial services to specific sectors of the community – emergency services, the health industry and government departments, as well as families and friends.
Its mission is to assist members in maximising their financial wellbeing and security, by providing a convenient, secure place to save and an economical place to borrow. Police Credit is wholly owned by its members, who are all equal shareholders.
Working with Advent One, Police Credit quickly recognised the potential value of Intellinx in meeting its compliance obligations, minimising fraud and protecting the privacy of its members.
Following a comprehensive Proof of Concept, Police Credit decided to proceed with its implementation of Intellinx. For some time, Intellinx has been monitoring all user activities for Police Credit’s internet banking service. The institution is currently extending deployment to its traditional banking and loan applications services.
Intellinx was installed at Police Credit on IBM servers and DB2 relational database manager.

Peter MacCallum maximises storage March 2008 |
Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is Australia’s foremost Cancer Centre, with the mission of providing quality treatment and support to patients and their families. Underpinned by research and the best evidence available, Peter Mac broadly influences cancer care in the community through multi-disciplinary partnerships, research and education.
The challenge the Peter Mac IT team faced was escalating demands on existing storage, with insufficient budget for a wholesale upgrade of their storage environment.
Advent One’s solution included IBM’s SAN Volume Controller, TotalStorage Productivity Center and additional data storage equipment to cater for growth. Plus, they provided comprehensive implementation services to integrate the new software and hardware with Peter MacCallum’s existing storage capacity. The result is cost effective, scalable data storage and delivery.
ICT Manager Nuno Goncalves says, "We were dealing with an ever increasing demand on storage space; our challenge was to find a solution that was scalable and expandable. The solution would also need to have minimal impact on our Hospital's operations. IBM's SAN Volume Controller allowed us to take advantage of our existing investment, while expanding on capacity and functionality.
“With the assistance of Advent One, we are now capable of expanding and allocating storage on the fly with minimal administration. As we move to virtualise our server hardware and review our disaster recovery process, SVC and VMware will play a major part in our goal to deliver stable and reliable ICT services to Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre."

Murray Goulburn improves SAP response timesMarch 2008 |
Murray Goulburn Cooperative (MGC) is Australia’s leading dairy business and the largest exporter of processed food – best known locally for its Devondale brand. To support business growth and ever increasing system demand, the company needed an IT infrastructure that could be highly scalable and flexible. Response times and performance were serious issues.
Advent One’s solution included IBM’s SAN Volume Controller, Tivoli Storage Manager and additional data storage equipment to cater for growth – plus comprehensive implementation services.
Murray Goulburn’s IT Manager, Paul Stancill, says: “The continuing expansion and use of our SAP system was showing signs of degradation. There were 600 users using the production system. Response times were poor, storage capacity had reached its limit, the backup process was taking a long time and our Sun equipment had reached the limits of its expansion. We were looking for a flexible and scaleable platform that would, first, enable us to get our response times back to good levels, but then also allow us to cater for further growth in the future.
“Working with IBM and their Business Partner Advent One, we have consolidated from seven Sun servers to a single IBM Series p5 server. We have decreased CPUs from 26 to four – resulting in reduced software licensing charges – while improving SAP response times.
“Advent One was able to smooth the process of dealing with IBM, which is better done by a small, nimble partner… Advent One has fulfilled that position very well.”
